An exhibition by Halifax-based artist Craig Leonard exploring notions of correspondence (analogy, translation, equivalency, and transmission) and the poetic device of catachresis (the use of a word in a way that is incorrect). Through ink drawings, enamel sculptures, and text, Leonard’s exhibition connects the forms of Clyfford Still (1904-1980) to those of Alexander Cozens (1717-1786 ) by way of “correspondence” as a technique of “catechetic metaphor" which fuses discordance with suggestiveness.
